The Wolverine Stamp Club was made up of a small group of about 25 families. The club hosted shows in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The Postmaster there (Robert Karpinski) was a true friend of stamp collectors & was very supportive of the club. The postmarks, created by the club founder and President Leonard Pulinski, include design elements from Dennis Ranski’s general purpose Shuttle cover.

Due to technical problems with the TDRS satellite cargo, the 51-E mission was cancelled. On March 5, 1985 the shuttle was rolled back to the VAB. The 51-E flight Crew, except for Patrick Baudry, was reassigned to fly aboard Discovery ov-103 mission 51-D.
